Tuesday's trek
Tuesday the 10th, after a wee brekkie at The Rabbie Burns Whisky Bar, we stopped by St Giles Cathedral for a peek inside. Beautiful stained glass windows and the Thistle Chapel is beautiful. After taking many photos we wandered down to the Palace at Holyrood House, which is The Queen's Edinburgh Home. I toured the inside while Richard "toured" the outside. We stopped in a pub in for a bite of "linner" in a pub about 3:30, which was empty except for one man at the bar, then it was overran with Canadians. There was NO doubt in our minds they were Canadians, not because they told the barmaid or that they sat right beside us and we could overhear their conversation about going over the border to the states and how border patrol is so rude by not letting them bring in or take back items...no, it was their nasally loud accent that filled the room. Even the waiter rolled his eyes and shrugged his shoulders while walking by us. We tried to make it to the Scott Memorial but ran out of time, enough time for Richard to get to the top and take photos; we didn't realize that we spent so many hours in two places.
